☆What is Koya Maki?☆
It is said that it was named "Koya Maki" (Koya pine) because it grows abundantly on Mount Koya, the headquarters of the Shingon sect of Buddhism in Wakayama Prefecture.
This stand is made from those Koya Maki logs! It has a wonderful scent(^^)

Koya Maki is also highly water-resistant and durable, which is why it is used for boats in Japan's traditional "ukai" (cormorant fishing).
