Natural Koyamaki Log Pet Food Bowl Stand for Cats and Small Dogs

It is the most beautiful piece we have ever offered.

The surface has been flame-treated, which makes the wood grain stand out more deeply and beautifully.

This is an original log food bowl.
Each base is carefully handmade, so the wood patterns will vary for every piece.
It has the scent of natural Koyamaki wood (^^)
I have other feeding stands and water bowls listed as well!

The wooden bowl stand has a sophisticated feel and a design that easily blends with any interior.
The glass cup is easy to remove, making it hygienic and easy to wash.

The elevated log design helps prevent vomiting in dogs and cats that tend to eat too quickly.

☆What is Koyamaki?☆
It is said that the Koyamaki (Japanese umbrella pine) got its name because it grows abundantly on Mt. Koya in Wakayama Prefecture, the headquarters of the Shingon sect of Buddhism.
This is a log of that very Koyamaki! It has a lovely scent (^^)

Koyamaki is also water-resistant and durable, which is why it is used for traditional Japanese cormorant fishing boats.

☆Koyamaki Weathered Wood (Shareboku)☆
"Shareboku" refers to wood that has been exposed to the elements in the wild, where the outer white sapwood has rotted away, leaving only the heartwood behind.
Because it is the remaining core, it is considered highly durable and resistant to decay.

My local lumber supplier told me that because this forms naturally, it is difficult to keep in stock (^^)
It is often used for high-end art objects and bonsai.
It is a rare wood that rarely hits the market.
